Happy New Year!!

One week ago (today!) we had a wonderful New Year's day meeting with the New Orleans Metro area. We pushed the meeting back to 11AM (from the usual 10AM) so by the time the meeting ended around 12:30PM, everyone was hungry for our potluck lunch! First, however, SGI meetings are never complete without our traditional commemorative photo. So please enjoy the smiling faces of the New Orleans members!!

Happy Birthday to President Ikeda!

January 2nd was 3rd Founding President, Daisaku Ikeda's, 83rd birthday! Congratulations, Sensei! President Ikeda established the Soka Gakkai International after he went abroad to many different countries 50 years ago! Because of this, we in New Orleans have the opportunity to share this Buddhism within our community!

This week, please join a local meeting in your area! You can contact one of the New Orleans Area leaders for more information (See on right) or call the community center (upper left)

No matter what kind of difficult situation one may find oneself in, some opening, some opportunity to fight one's way out, can always be found. What's most important is to hold fast to hope, to face the future with courage.  - President Ikeda
